Arcadian Veil
Designlab Experience transformed an event space for a wedding reception for 1,200 guests. The intervention unfolded across several distinct sections, each meticulously integrating architectural elements and bold art installations that celebrated the wonders of nature through cohesive artistry.
Designlab Experience reimagined a wedding reception venue, seamlessly blending nature and art through refined architectural design and immersive art installations. For the set design, the team collaborated with Stefan Lubrina, the esteemed Creative Director known for his visionary Chanel fashion shows.
The entrance was designed as a serene, flora-inspired oasis centered around a seating installation featuring custom-printed fabric covering the entire structure—spanning the circular columns, seats, and tables. A recurring motif blending naïve art and naturalism created a visually captivating scenery, immersing guests in a narrative of understated elegance.
In the majlis, the bride made a dramatic entrance, emerging through an arched opening, crossing a wooden bridge, and descending a stone-like staircase. Her reflective path to the kosha, framed by the soothing sound of active waterfalls cascading behind the bridal stage, symbolized her new beginning.
The transition room connected the majlis to the dining room and featured printed panels depicting abstract nature scenes. An interactive perfume display offered guests a luxurious olfactory experience before they entered the next immersive space—a vibrant dining area showcasing a bold and celebratory atmosphere of color and artistry.
A ceiling installation, composed of floating gradient-colored petals made from printed metal mesh, appeared to bloom from above, casting soft, shifting light across the room. The columns and walls featured 3D artworks in illuminated displays, enhanced by infinity effects that expanded the room's depth. Modern custom furniture, including transparent multi-colored chairs, provided a striking contrast to the dining room's floral design. Light, color, and botanical motifs transformed the space into a living artwork celebrating the couple’s union.
The visual impact of the event was underpinned by technical ingenuity. Modular ceiling installations in the majlis and dining room were precisely designed, assembled on-site, and lifted into position, allowing the team to create complex, organic shapes while maintaining a sense of balance and harmony throughout.
